GEORGE Michael, the hairy pop star who last year lost his legal battle with Sony over the
terms of his contract, has come a long way since making £16m in 1988.
The accounts of his private company, Nobby's Hobby's Holdings, filed last month at Companies House, show that it made an operating profit of £5,322 in 1993. This was topped up with £375,000 of income from shareholdings in group companies.
The accounts state that all the profit was retained, perhaps because of the impending court case, where costs were estimated at £7m. I gather he has been dropped, at least from the upper echelons, of the annual guide to the world's richest men.
